NEW EU LAW ON THE WAY REGARDING TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENTS.

Members of the European Parliament voted on the 11th February to change the legal basis of a 2010 law designed to make it easier to track down and punish European Union motorists who commit traffic offences in a member state where they are not resident.
This is a double edged sword – good for the British to be able to prosecute foreign drivers who break the rules, but for British drivers overseas – be aware that you could be prosecuted for traffic infringements.

This has still to be approved by all member states and we do not know when the new directive will take effect.
